Greetings to all readers on this, my new blog. I trust and pray that God will use this blog to touch the hearts of all who visit here.
The Lord placed the idea into my heart to start this blog, quite sometime ago. I set up the page, but then I felt the need to wait on the Lord. I always want to be obedient to the Lord, so even though I would like to have got going on the blog, I set it aside and waited. At all times I will seek the Lord before posting anything. Of course, I am human and sometimes I sin and fail God, but I am quick to repent and seek His mercy and forgiveness. Personally, I feel sick when I know I have been disobedient or done something sinful. Yes, we are under grace, but that is NEVER an excuse to live a life not completely in obedience to our Saviour.
There are people who do not place repentance very far up the list of importance in the Christian life. I believe that we cannot walk in peace with our Lord, unless we go to Him with a sincere and humble heart, and ask His forgiveness daily. I have also learned the importance of letting go of your burdens, and leaving them at the feet of Jesus, on a daily basis.
I do not believe in new years resolutions, nor do I plan too far ahead. I am not saying that we should not set goals as Christians, but I believe that when we set our own plans, before the will of God for our lives, it is all too easy to experience disappointment and frustration. We can also fall into sinful disobedience. We just need to prayerfully wait, with a patient heart.
Philippians 4:6
King James Version (KJV)
6 Be
careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
1 John 2:3-6
The Test of Knowing Him
“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” (NKJV)
Psalm 37:4, 7a
“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.”(KJV)
The verses above are scripture that encourage me. They remind me of the importance of prayer, repentance, and obedience, in my daily walk with God. They also remind me that God has a merciful and tender heart towards me, and that I can trust Him with my life.
So on that note, I wish everyone a happy and blessed new year. Remember that our prayers should always be 'truthful conversations with God'. A conversation is a two way communication, one of speaking and one of listening... and so it should be with our Lord and Saviour.
God bless,
